The City of Bayonne Urban Enterprise Zone (UEZ) and the Bergen Point Merchants will serve as the hosts to the annual Bergen Point Fall Festival on Saturday, Oct. 19, in celebration of the 150th anniversary of the City of Bayonne.
“The City of Bayonne and the City Council members would like to invite friends and neighbors in New York and New Jersey to visit Bayonne and enjoy the festival with us in October,” announced Bayonne Mayor Jimmy Davis. He reported that the event will take place in the shadow of the Bayonne Bridge, which is in close proximity to Staten Island.
“The Festival will offer a day of fun for the entire family,” Davis continued.
The event, which runs on Broadway from 5th Street to Cottage Street from 12 noon until 6 p.m., will include live musical entertainment, dancing, free inflatable rides, balloon sculpture, sand art, face painting, a dog costume contest, food and shopping opportunities provided by Bergen Point Merchants and specialty vendors.
The 2019 Bergen Point Fall Festival is supported by a grant from the New Jersey Department of State’s Division of Travel and Tourism, which is actively inviting Staten Islanders to enjoy good times in the Garden State.
“We invite our Staten Island neighbors, who are just 10 minutes away, to come across the Bayonne Bridge for some great family fun activities,” Mayor Davis concluded. “We look forward to having a great time with all of you.”
