SIEDC Encourages Non-Profits and Private Entities to Attend NYS Consolidated Funding Application Information Session at the SIEDC Green & Clean Festival

Staten Island, NY May 31, 2019 – The Staten Island Economic Development Corporation (SIEDC) will be hosting a New York State Regional Council Consolidated Funding Grant Application Information Session at 11:00 a.m. in the Events Tent at the SIEDC Green & Clean Festival on June 6, 2019 at the Staten Island Zoo.  SIEDC encourages non-profits and private entities that are interested in securing funding for capital construction, business expansion, community programs, and other growth opportunities to attend this session.

This is the ONLY opportunity to apply for state funds in 2019.

As part of Governor Cuomo’s transformative plan to improve the state’s economic development model, a NYS Consolidated Funding Application (CFA) has been created that will streamline and expedite the grant application process. The CFA process marks a fundamental shift in the way state resources are allocated, ensuring less bureaucracy and greater efficiency to fulfill local economic development needs.

Utilizing the CFA serving as the single entry point for access to economic development funding, applicants will no longer have to slowly navigate multiple agencies and sources without any mechanism for coordination. Now, economic development projects will use the CFA as a support mechanism to access multiple state funding sources through one application, making the process quicker, easier, and more productive.

Representatives from Empire State Development, SIEDC, and previous awardees will be on hand at the session to discuss the process and provide guidance to attendees.

The NYS Consolidated Funding Application has been influential in funding both large and small scale projects on Staten Island.  West Shore Light Rail, West Shore BID, Lighthouse Point, and Empire Outlets as well, as a number of city and state agency projects and a variety important local non-profit efforts.

There are strict guidelines for applications and all are due at the end of the July.  This session will educate the attendees on the process to apply.
