JCC to Hold Golf, Tennis & Bocce Classic on July 15

The Jewish Community Center of Staten Island’s Annual Golf, Tennis & Bocce
Classic will be held on Monday, July 15, 2019 at the Richmond County Country
Club. Participants will enjoy a fun and competitive day while knowing that their efforts
support a worthwhile cause – providing camp and preschool scholarships children
in need. Over the past 39 years, the event has raised over $1,500,000 in scholarship
money.
At the event, the JCC will honor individuals and businesses that have worked tirelessly
to improve the lives of children on Staten Island. This year’s honorees are Catholic
Charities of Staten Island, Cory Schifter, Jeanine & John Tardy Family, and the Verrazano
Kiwanis Club of Staten Island.
“The JCC is incredibly grateful to our honorees for their generosity and commitment
to helping Staten Island’s neediest children,” said David Sorkin, CEO of the JCC of Staten
Island. “We are also thankful to our co-chairs, Alan Poritz and Lenore Schwartz, and
our Bocce Chair, Bob Cutrona, for putting this wonderful day together. We encourage
all sporty Staten Islanders to spend a day out on the course and courts—and those
who are less athletic are welcome to join us for a beautiful dinner. We hope to see you
there!”
In addition to golf, tennis, and bocce, attendees will receive brunch and dinner.
There will be both a silent and live auction with contests, gifts, and prizes at the dinner
reception. For information about sponsorships and tickets please contact Sylvia
