The Joseph Maffeo Foundation held it’s Casino Night on March 16 at the
Hilton Garden Inn to help raise funds for the construction of a new Neonatal Intensive
Care Unit at Staten Island University Hospital-Northwell Health. Valerie Strange was given
the “Staten Island Angel Award” for her contributions to the medical and Staten Island

The Staten Island YMCA held it’s annual “Dinner and Dance” event at the Hilton Garden Inn on March 8. Honored for their community service to Staten Islanders were Doreen
Cugno and Luanne Sorrentino,co-owners of the St. George Theater, along with Massimi DiDonna, co-owner of Partners in Sound Productions.

The Staten Island Heart Society presented the 16th Annual Chefs’ Extravaganza which was held at the Hilton Garden Inn on March 26. They also honored members of the Staten
Island Community with Hero Awards.

The Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA) is a program that guides high school students through the process of starting a business.
The Staten Island Chamber of Commerce helps mentor the students along with other business sponsors. The event was held at Staten Island Technical High School on March 20, 2019.
