Updated app makes it easier than ever to submit quality-of-life issues to BP’s office
Staten Island, NY — Borough President James Oddo is pleased to announce the relaunch of his popular BP Assist app. The upgraded app will include new features that make it easier for constituents to report quality-of-life issues directly to the Borough President’s office.
Those who already have the app must delete their current app and download the new one. The app is free to download and use.
In addition to a new look, the updated app has several new features that make it easier to use and more efficient. When a constituent takes a picture of an issue, the app will automatically determine its location and send it to the Borough President’s office. Constituents can see if someone else has already submitted the same issue that they have. They can also follow the progress of the other person’s report without resubmitting the issue.
Additionally, reports can now be submitted directly from the Staten Island USA website and Facebook page.
BP Assist is a tool that enables Staten Island residents and visitors to quickly report quality-of-life issues, such as potholes, litter, and graffiti. Reports are instantly transmitted to the Borough President’s Help Line and then directed to the appropriate agency for remedial action. Additionally, the app contains other resources, including important phone numbers, local news, an events calendar, and a link to the Visit Staten Island tourism website.
The new app is powered by SeeClickFix, a company that provides request and work management technology for local governments.
“I’m excited to launch this new, upgraded app,” said BP Oddo. “It’s now quicker and easier than ever to report quality-of-life issues to my office. I’m asking all Staten Islanders who already have BP Assist to delete their current app and replace it with the new one. If you haven’t given BP Assist a try, please consider downloading it. With your help, we can make Staten Island a better place to live, work, and play.”
“We are honored to be powering the BP Assist App for the Staten Island Borough President’s Office. Staten Island’s significance in the NYC metro area cannot be over-stated. We are thrilled to be partnering with the Borough President’s Office to offer citizens an opportunity for engagement of and dialogue with Borough offices and services. We hope that this will be just the beginning of SeeClickFix’s further adoption in NYC,” said Ben Berkowitz, Co-Founder and CEO of SeeClickFix.
BP Assist can be downloaded from the App Store and Google Play. It can also be accessed through the Borough President’s website at www.statenislandusa.com/bpassist.
